Speyside 2014 Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet butterscotch candies, ambrosia cream and juicy red pears.

Palate: Rich and decedent, fruity with a touch of sweet red berries, all sitting above a white pepper kick from the oak. Light spring like with a note of sparkling honey wine.

Finish: Warming, dry, yet delicate. Some agave nectar. More of a sensation than distinct flavours, but what a sensation!

About this Dram Mor whisky

A limited release from the Speyside Distillery, presented by Dram Mor. This whisky was aged for 8 years, with a secondary maturation in a first fill Moscatel wine cask. An interesting distillery, Speyside is relatively young by Scottish Malt standards, having started in 1990. They look like an older distillery though because it was built using an existing 18th century barley mill and croft house.
